Posted by The Journal on Nov 2, 09 01:40 PM in Sport

A strong challenge from Bedlington Terriers was not enough to take any points from Dunston UTS at the weekend. Dunston stay fourth in the Northern League Division One after a brace of goals from Fergal Harkin saw them to victory.

Ashington continue to enjoy a purple patch and remain third after defeating Shildon at Woodhorn Lane courtesy of goals by Andrew Johnson and Keith Douglas (pen).

Defeat by Tow Law Town cost Whitley Bay pole position and Spennymoor Town returned to the top with a five-goal rout of neighbours West Auckland Town.
